Staff Accountant

Full-Time

EMVC seeks candidates for a Staff Accountant Position to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities. The Staff Accountant responsibilities include the accuracy and completeness of accounting records including journal entries, recording payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations. This position closely interacts with and provides support as necessary to Accounts Payable personnel. Monitors and provides feedback to CFO on internal controls, policies, and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of financial & business records.

A degree in accounting and experience is preferred with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and Cornerstone. Candidates can look forward to advancement within the department with attainment of skills and company understanding.

Position Summary

Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of accounting records including journal entries, recording payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations. Maintains confidentiality of financial & business records.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • General Employment Responsibilities:
    • Interact with clients, the public and fellow employees in a manner consistent with EMVC, PC mission, vision, and values.
    • Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
    • Proactively monitors working capital and communicates any changes or concerns to owner and CFO.
    • Takes initiative to meet deadlines, maintain current financial records, and recognizes their integral role in the production of timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service:
    • Interact with internal and external stakeholders in a welcoming and professional manner both in person, on the phone, and in written communication.
    • Provide & interpret appropriate financial information in a clear and concise manner to management.
    • Responds in a timely manner and recognizes the urgency of financial decisions.
    • Maintain general ledger, reconciliations, and financial records in QuickBooks.
    • Collaborate with CFO on financial reporting and budget preparation & analysis.
    • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts daily.
    • Monitor and reconcile liabilities including AP, credit cards, and line of credit.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Job Requirements

  • Education: Accounting Degree
  • Must use computers with ease and embrace innovative technology:
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), QuickBooks and Cornerstone.
    • Always maintain a professional appearance.
